  • October 15, 2022
    8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

In celebration of Yardbird Suite’s 65th Anniversary Celebration, we’re excited to present a week’s worth of celebratory live music, including the Tuesday 65th Anniversary All-Star Invitation-Only Jam, and two consecutive evenings of PJ Perry, the Edmonton saxophone legend whose name is synonymous with the Yardbird Suite.

Friday and Saturday will feature the PJ Perry Quintet with very special, unique performances each evening, curated and programmed by PJ himself.

Saturday’s Event as described by PJ:

The opening set will be the PJ Perry Quintet featuring Bob Tildesley on trumpet, the same Quintet featured on the brand new CellarLive records release No Hugs.

The closing set features the 17-piece Yardbird Suite Jazz Orchestra led by Kent Sangster. Kent has secured Edmonton’s core of great jazz players to close this special night of music. PJ Perry will join in on some tunes and there will be many hot solos.
