Influences range from sixties post-bop to contemporary ECM sounds all unified by the veteran band leader’s distinctive writing style. Balancing refinement, spontaneity, and excitement, this ensemble will thrill and delight you with its artistry and passion.
Tom Van Seters is Associate Professor of Music at MacEwan University in Edmonton. His talents as a pianist/composer/arranger have delighted audiences for over twenty-five years. As a collaborative artist he has worked with a long list of jazz luminaries including Don Thompson, Mike Murley, and Jim Vivian among others. His academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
