Tuesday Jam Hosted by Mark Segger

(Edmonton)

Tonight’s improvising quartet Golub / Sangster / Segger / Urquhart will open the session, and jammers are invited to perform free improvisations and / or play standards, as they prefer.

Mark Segger plays drums, improvises, and composes. He studied with Terry Clarke and has performed with Lina Allemano, Jane Bunnett, Dave Burrell, and Steve Swell among many others. Segger plays a wide variety of music locally and is a part of the improvising group Damn Magpies, who recently recorded with poet Shima Robinson on Dwennimmen’s The Bellow Project. The Mark Segger Sextet’s most recent release Lift Off (2020) has been identified as “challenging and rewarding music. Adventurous!” (Wulf Muller)
