Jacob aims to elevate and serve the music through his authentic, precise, and ambitious approach as an improvisor. As an artist, he has also crafted and developed his own original compositions and arrangements within the deep heritage of Black American Music. Jacob recently completed his degree in Jazz Performance at McGill University, where he had the privilege of studying with some of Canada’s most renowned musicians, including Rémi Bolduc, André White, and Donny Kennedy. Currently, Jacob is channeling his creativity into a new venture – the Jacob Do Octet – where he explores the sounds and possibilities of a dynamic instrumentation in his writing. The Jacob Do Octet will have their debut performance at the Yardbird Suite in Edmonton, AB in March 2024, promising an exciting new chapter in Jacob’s musical journey.
