Tuesday Jam Hosted by Dan Sabo

Dan Sabo is a jazz pianist, a rock guitarist, a small business owner, and a passionate music educator.

  •  May 19, 2026
     8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Drawing inspiration from jazz legends like Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, and McCoy Tyner, alongside contemporary voices such as Brad Mehldau and Aaron Parks, Dan’s music seeks to honour these artists while also pushing into new, genre-blurring territory. His sound traces unlikely lines between Mac DeMarco and Keith Jarrett, Radiohead and Chopin, with melody, space, and groove always at the core.

Dan’s musical journey has rarely been linear. He spent time as a junior high band teacher, and completed a master’s degree in wind band conducting, before opening Backbeat, the Whyte Ave music school where kids learn by playing in rock bands. In recent years, Dan has released EPs and performed with his indie rock band Larch Gold, as well as his collaborative funk project Starterz. He is currently working on a solo jazz piano album slated for release in 2026.

Our live Tuesday Jam is hosted by a musician and a band while audience members join in on the fun by jamming along on stage.

Musicians who want to participate in the Jam can purchase a “Jam Participant” ticket at a reduced cost.

All Jam Participants need to register at the door upon entry to the event.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
