Tuesday Jam Hosted by Byrne McMullen: A Tribute to John Coltrane

“My music is the spiritual expression of what I am — my faith, my knowledge, my being… When you begin to see the possibilities of music, you desire to do something really good for people, to help humanity free itself from its hangups… I want to speak to their souls.”
― John Coltrane

John Coltrane was not only one of the greatest saxophone players ever, but also one of the greatest musical trailblazers and innovators in our entire history. His music transcended boundaries and came from a deep, spiritual place.

Byrne McMullen is an up-and-coming jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader in Edmonton, Alberta. He is known for his warm, full tone and commitment to creating a sound authentic to the jazz language and tradition. Join him in a tribute to the music of the famous quartet from the early 1960’s and a celebration of John Coltrane’s 100th birthday!

Our live Tuesday Jam is hosted by a musician and a band while audience members join in on the fun by jamming along on stage.

Musicians who want to participate in the Jam can purchase a “Jam Participant” ticket at a reduced cost.

All Jam Participants need to register at the door upon entry to the event.
