Kelmer is a Drummer/Percussionist, vocalist, and composer from Edmonton. He is heavily influenced by Artists from the 40s era and onward, such as Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Phill Collins, Keith Moon, and Buddy Rich.
Kelmer (David Kelmer) is a MacEwan alumni who studied drums/percussion under the direction of both Dan Skakun, and Brian Thurgood. He is also currently studying vocals privately with Lindon Carter.
His joyous, enthusiastic personality and loving heart comes through in his playing. He’s had the opportunity to perform with Edmonton groups such as The Leaky Shack Travelling Road Show, BacBruce, and Read Fenton and his Happy Hep Cats. Nowadays you can find him performing with his Indie band called The Beating Hearts and doing freelance work around the city. His solo career includes the release of his first studio record titled Love Is a Way of Living in 2022 and his second with The Beating Hearts in 2025.
“I am both honoured and excited to perform my first official concert gig at Yardbird!”
