Tony D with Dave Babcock and the Nightkeepers

Tony D has been one of the premiere instrumentalists on the Canadian blues scene for a few decades now.

  • February 16, 2024
    8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Best known for contributing the red-hot guitar playing in the award-winning band MonkeyJunk, this Ottawa-based instrumentalist, singer and composer is also a respected producer, session player and sideman who has worked with the likes of the late, great Dutch Mason, Paul Reddick and Susie Vinnick.

He’s a two-time Juno winner as a member of MonkeyJunk for the albums To Behold (2012) and Time To Roll (2018). Tony was named Guitar Player of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards in 2010, and with his MonkeyJunk bandmates accepted Best New Artist Debut honors at the Blues Music Awards in Memphis in 2010.

Last March Tony D and Dave Babcock’s crew teamed up for two nights of astounding instrumental blues, soul and R&B flavoured sounds at Dead Ends Live. These talented players and vocalists will be reprising some of the material from those shows while dipping into other sources of inspiration as well as material found on Tony D’s solo recording Speak No Evil.
