The Brenan Brothers Album Release – POSTPONED

POSTPONED: The Brenan Brothers return with their second album featuring original music and arrangements of classic 1970’s jazz.

  • February 15, 2024
    8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

The seven piece ensemble creates an inclusive acoustic sound inspired by the auditory landscapes of current jazz yet grounded in the traditions of hard bop and creative improvisation. This new ensemble will feature all of the players as they weave through updated jazz standards and original compositions celebrating new music during the release of their latest album: Valley of Silence.

“As young music fans we were introduced to the music of Woody Shaw during one of his many visits to Edmonton, these early experiences have indelibly made their mark on our love of Jazz music from the 1970’s and have influenced our creative process. Just as bebop performers adapted certain pop melodies to their own purposes, we consider popular music, acoustic jazz, world music, and free improvisation, as well as non-musical inspiration the stimulus for producing new music.”
