Gareth Gilliland, guitar

A thoughtful up-and-coming Edmonton-based guitarist, songwriter, and producer, Gareth Gilliland has studied guitar for over ten years under celebrated Edmonton guitarists Jamie Philp, Mo Lefever, and Jim Head. More recently he studied in Helsinki under Pekka Lukka. Often thinking of sounds from ambient music, melodies from folk traditions, and techniques from 20th-century composition, Gareth honours those who have come before him while striving for new sounds through improvisation.
