The Jesse Dietschi Trio strives to bring together elements of both modern jazz and contemporary classical chamber music using original compositions to balance both improvisation and contemporary classical textures.

Listeners can expect to hear cinematic stories without words, with both the intricacies of carefully crafted scenes with the excitement and energy of spontaneous creation. Leader, bassist, and composer Jesse Dietschi has been called a “virtuoso” by DownBeat Magazine, and a “musical contrabassist” by The WholeNote. He is an active freelance jazz upright and electric bassist and performs regularly as an extra section bassist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, and Mirvish musical theatre productions. The influences of these varying styles can be heard on the trio’s debut album, Gradient, which was released in the fall of 2023 to great critical acclaim, including a 3 ½ star review in the December 2023 edition of DownBeat Magazine.

The City of Edmonton has taken away the Yardbird Suite's parking discount code, (effective April 6, 2025); they will not install a kiosk, so scan the QR code in the parking & pay online lot to ensure you will not be ticketed. The parking rate will now be $6 maximum from 5 pm to 2 am (or $2.50 per hour).

Tickets will also be available at the door if not previously sold out online. Doors open at 7pm. Music starts at 8pm.

Yardbird Suite has cabaret seating: seats are available first-come, first-served. Please be aware that a couple seated at a table for four may be sharing the table with new friends if the performance is busy.
