High Society Jazz Band Tribute to Kid Ory

Playing the part of Kid Ory for this concert is Edmonton trombonist, Peter Filice. At 14, Peter joined the Littlebirds All Star Jazz Big Band and Combo, playing in it for 5 years, 3 of them as first chair of his section. Having graduated from Victoria School of the Performing Arts, he pursued and received a bachelor’s degree at Macewan University for Jazz and Contemporary Popular music (performance major). He has performed alongside a variety of groups in and around Edmonton, including the EJO, the Macewan Faculty/Student/Alumni Big Band, the Brasstactics/Oilers Drums and Brass, and the High Society Jazz Band. In addition to freelance and session work, he has also written and arranged for groups as a leader, solo artist and sideman.
