    8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Hubbard’s distinctive tone, attitude, technical skills, and unique phrasing have left an indelible mark, shaping the sound of contemporary jazz trumpeters. Freddie Hubbard made his debut in the New York jazz scene in 1958, embarking on a prolific recording career that spanned various musical styles, including bebop, hard bop, free jazz, Latin, fusion, funk, soul, and even ventures into pop and disco.

Based in Edmonton, Dave Herrick has been a part of the city’s music scene for approximately three decades, primarily serving as a sideman. He pursued his musical education at MacEwan and St. Francis Xavier University. Dave draws inspiration from an array of influential figures such as Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan, Woody Shaw, Tom Harrell, Kenny Wheeler, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, and numerous others.

Teaming up with a stellar ensemble of Edmonton musicians, they aim to provide a glimpse into the genius of Freddie.
