SOLD OUT elRoy Blue An Evening of Steely Dan Show 1

Larry Roy and Leonard Shaw along with eLRoy Blue band members Donny Benedictson, Daniel Roy, Erin Propp and Karly Epp, are presenting an exciting evening of Steely Dan’s music.

  •  May 16, 2026
     8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Steely Dan has always had great horn arrangements as part of their music. Larry’s bucket wish list was to expand these arrangements and create new arrangements for much of their material while maintaining the spirit and vibe of the original music.

Larry Roy has been in the music industry for over 40 years, as a jazz recording/touring artist, part of an award winning/Juno nominated duo with singer Erin Propp, a musical director for radio and television, a composer for film and television, an arranger for symphony and big band, a studio owner and recording engineer/producer for countless artists including Juno winners Will Bonness and Jocelyn Gould. Steely Dan was one of Larry’s biggest influences having learned every note on virtually every Steely Dan record as a teenager. This music gives him a chance to let loose with some screaming guitar riffs that may surprise those who only know him as a jazz guitarist.

Multi-instrumentalist Leonard Shaw’s music spans the genres from blues to R & B to jazz to funk to rock, and has been plying his keyboard-saxophone-vocalizing talents all over the U.S. since 1990 with the touring version of The Guess Who. A graduate of Grant MacEwan. His powerful voice and strong keys are a perfect fit for this project.

Don Benedictson is an award winning bass player/recording engineer-producer who has performed and recorded all over North America for decades.

Daniel Roy is one of the busiest, most versatile and creative drummers in Canada. He has toured and recorded extensively throughout North America and Europe. Together, Donny and Daniel create a powerful vibe for this music.

Erin Propp is a nationally renowned singer with a Juno nomination and a Western Music Award for her CD releases with Larry Roy. She is about to release her first solo recording to great anticipation.

Karly Epp has been part of the U of M jazz faculty since 2018. She is prominently featured on several Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra recordings over the past 5 years. Together, Erin and Karly are pleasure to listen to and will be featured as part of these performances.
