Cikwes’ music explores nehiyawewin (Cree language). Her ethereal vocal style explores the Cree syllabics also known as spirit makers while her heartfelt stories and songs will take you on journey of what it means to be a nehiyaw iskô navigating intergenerational healing. As a child of both parents that were forced to attend residential schools, Cikwes revitalizes the Cree language through the power of music.
