The Program
Mozart — Sinfonia Concertante
Described by historian Alfred Einstein as “dropped from heaven,” this luminous work remains one of Mozart’s most beloved masterpieces.
Mendelssohn — Symphony No. 1
Written at just 15 years old, Mendelssohn’s first symphony brims with youthful vitality and emotional fire—capturing his belief that “the essence of beauty is unity in variety.”
Jocelyn Morlock — Strange Loop
Manitoba-born composer Jocelyn Morlock called her mesmerizing work “whimsical and fun/frenetic,” music in which “despite movement, one always ends up where one started.”
