Teach your students all about jazz right here in their own city while helping a new generation of listeners appreciate the unrepeatable experience of live music and the value of venues like the Yardbird Suite.
Yardbird Suite’s Jazz For Kids is an educational program designed to expose, inspire, educate, and engage elementary-aged youth in the art form of jazz.
Students will learn about the rich history of jazz in the city of Edmonton and the coolness of jazz through educational materials provided in class followed by an exciting field trip to the Yardbird Suite to experience the music in person. Streaming options are also available.
Jazz For Kids shows are energetic, informative and accessible for all who attend, with cross-curricular appeal covering everything from poetry and dance, to history, and even math.
Tickets are $10 per student and teachers/caregivers are free to attend.
