Bartosz Hadala was born in Poland and at the age of fifteen, he
became the youngest finalist in the Mieczyslaw Kosz International
Jazz Piano Competition. He studied at the Berklee College of Music
in Boston, the Odessa Conservatory in Ukraine, and at Western
In 2003 he presented his quintet at the IAJE Conference in Toronto, Canada. In May of the same year, he moved to New York City to pursue his career in music. He lived in New York from 2003 until he moved to Toronto in 2010.
Hadala has worked and recorded with many well-known artists including Randy Brecker, Billy Hart, Lenny White, Antonio Sanchez, Johannes Weindenmueller, Dave Anderson, Ada Rovatti, and Jon Irabagon.
His first jazz album "The Runner Up" featured trumpeter Randy Brecker and drummer Antonio Sanchez. The album has been well received by the critics, who praised Bartosz for his musicianship and his compositions.
During the past seven years, Bartosz has visited Poland on many different occasions, performing in a duo setting with singer, songwriter Rupert Wates, leading his own projects and working as a sideman with many legendary Polish jazz musicians such as Jacek Pelc, Jarek Smietana, Piotr Olszewski, Henryk Miskiewicz, Maciej Sikala as well as recent Grammy winners bassist Pawel Palta and drummer Cezary Konrad.
The latest addition to Bartosz's own discography is a Christmas album entitled "Triumphs of the Heavenly King". The album features many talented artists from Poland and Canada.
